But will it keep the V8?
Switching from a front-engined layout to a mid-engined one is the most significant change Chevrolet has ever made to the legendary Corvette. The move wasn’t easy. Chevy started the project by mounting an engine in the back of a Holden Ute to prove the concept. It seems to have paid off though, as the C8 Corvette is far more advanced than the car it replaces and everyone is wondering when another automaker will release a mid-engined competitor.
As it turns out, the next mid-engined American sports car won’t be coming from Ford or Fiat Chrysler. Instead, it will be coming from Chevy who today announced that the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro will be mid-engined.
